My story

My Research

I’m especially interested in Earth-centred practice. I’m finding that when humans recognise their place within a bigger picture alongside other forms of life, animal, plant, cosmos etc., that we gain a sense of perspective which leads to greater contentment. Bus ri busis a Gaelic phrase meaning cheek-to-cheek and snout-to-snout, translated as alongside in English. It sums up a way of working that values every living being,

Take part in my research

My name is Finn. I live in Scotland with my family and I work around the world through online and in-person consultations.

I feel that my work now closely aligns with my personal values and professional skills more than ever before. I’ve worked hard to ensure that I do my very best within my work by studying coaching psychology to MSc level. Since then I’ve worked for hundreds of hours with many clients to attain senior accreditation with the EMCC and I continue to learn with each client.

Previously I’ve enjoyed fantastic career opportunities in different sectors, both in the UK and abroad, enjoying the thrill of winning awards within healthcare and business.

The experiences below inform my practice:

  • my professional experience within healthcare, entrepreneurship and coaching,

  • my personal experience as a parent, partner, friend and within my wider family

  • studies in systemic therapy and systemic constellations

  • my voluntary work within the Fashion Revolution Scotland (FRS) policy team.

I’ve now gained ethical approval for my research. I’ll be gathering stories around a relational approach to Earth for the next year for a professional doctorate in systemic practice. If you’d like to be part of the research please contact me.

Reflective Practice

I believe that my practice benefits from times of reflection and I often use the early morning to read and meditate. The work of Richard Wagamese has deeply impacted me recently and I share some of his words now.

“These days, I choose to face life head-on - and I have become a comet. I arc across the sky of my life and the hard times are the friction that shaves off the worn and tired bits. The more I travel head-on, the more I am shaped, and the things that no longer work or are unnecessary drop away.”

Richard Wagamese (Embers 2016,133)

I like to work with people who want to face life head-on. If you think that this is you, let’s talk.
